Warren shuts out Highland Park

Alliyah Parker scored in the first half, as Warren's girls soccer team opened its season with a 1-0 win over Highland Park on Tuesday.

Courtney Chomko had the assist. Blue Devils goalie Sky Reilly had 2 saves in earning the shutout.

Round Lake 1, Woodstock North 0: The Panthers captured their season opener, as Michelle Paz scored in the first half off an assist from Jasmine Cruz.

Crystal Lake Central 3, Grant 0: The visiting Bulldogs lost their season opener, falling behind 2-0 by halftime.

Grant keeper Lexi Werve made 11 saves in net.

Deerfield 2, Antioch 0: The Sequoits surrendered an own goal in spotting the Warriors a 2-0 lead by halftime in the season opener.

Monica Wilhelm had 7 saves in net for Antioch.

Carmel 6, Von Steuben 0: The Corsairs improved to 2-0, as Gianna Sarallo had a goal and an assist.

Carmel also got goals from Lily Sykes, Riley Harmon, Erin Johnston, Emma Heinrich and Madelyn Cusack.
