Palatine man gets probation for sexually abusing teen

A 28-year-old Palatine man admitted sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl he met through a social networking site and was sentenced to probation.

Adan Flores-Cano pleaded guilty Tuesday to aggravated criminal sexual abuse and was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to register as a sex offender, according to court records.

Prosecutors say Flores-Cano, of the 900 block of N. Countryside Drive, began an online correspondence with the girl in 2015. In May of that year, he asked her to visit him at his apartment where they engaged in sexual activity, prosecutors said. The girl told her mother several months later and Flores-Cano was arrested in January.
