Fire leaves Naperville home uninhabitable
No injuries were reported to residents or firefighters early Sunday after fire swept through a Naperville home, leaving the structure uninhabitable, authorities said.
Naperville firefighters called to the single-family home in the 100 block of North Ellsworth Street arrived at 12:02 a.m. to find smoke and fire coming from the residence. The fire was located in the attic and roof and extinguished, fire officials said. In all, 11 pieces of fire equipment and 26 fire personnel were on the scene.
The cause of the fire is remains under investigation, according to the Naperville Fire Department.
Naperville firefighters were assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police Department, Naperville Electric Department, Naperville Water Department, Nicor and the American Red Cross. The Plainfield Fire Protection District, Lisle Woodridge Fire Protection District, Darien Woodridge Fire Protection District, Winfield Fire Protection District and the Wheaton Fire Department provided coverage for Naperville fire stations.
