People need guns to defend democracy

I would be for gun control except I do not want to live in a military state as those in Venezuela, China, Russia, North Korea, etc., who live under gun control laws. A Chinese friend speaking about the Tiananmen Square Massacre, said without guns, his people were fighting for democracy with broken bottles and being slaughtered by military machine guns and tanks, unlike Afghans who have successfully held back British, Russian and U.S. forces by their people bearing arms. Without guns, people have no power to fight (as Hong Kong now), and democracy dies.

Criminals use guns to harm, and don't obey gun laws, by definition of them being criminals. Even if criminals are disarmed, they will plant bombs in crowds as happened in Oklahoma City and Boston, use airplanes as weapons, as well as poisons, knives, etc., and so we, the public, will still not be safe, just unarmed and unable to protect ourselves.

Gun control disarms the law-abiding citizens. Our wise founders (Second Amendment) and unfortunately tyrants and nefarious types all know that disarming the people gives the government total power. Know gun control, know military control, then know no freedoms.

Would women, gays, religious, ethnic, freedom of the press survive under a military state? No. Look around the world. Protect our Second Amendment - support gun freedom and rights to protect our democracy; the NRA is not the bad guy.
