It's critical to assure water safe from lead
On a recent visit to Chicago to do experiments, I enjoyed reading your Dec. 3 editorial entitled: "Flint, Chicago show school lead water testing needed."
Water, as the solvent of life, is a fundamental necessity for all living things. Children are particularly susceptible to serious nervous system damage from lead-tainted water due to their rapidly developing/growing minds (which can more rapidly absorb heavy metal toxins). It is thus absolutely critical that water supplies be regularly tested as a public safety measure.
We also need to make better efforts aimed at purifying and storing clean water in an age where our ecosphere is increasingly contaminated and clean, fresh water is becoming increasingly hard to find.
