Forest View alumni invited to open house

Former Falcons are invited to an all-years open house at Forest View High School Saturday, Sept. 10.

The event, held at the former high school - now the Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road in Arlington Heights - will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It will include self-guided tours, opportunities to chat with former teachers and administrators, yearbooks for viewing and a video booth in which to record favorite Falcon memories.

Attendees also can enjoy tater tots, a Falcon favorite, in the cafeteria (first-come, first-served) and purchase Forest View High School T-shirts as part of the experience. Volunteers will be available to point out key areas of interest, including two banks of original lockers and a touch-screen video display of standout Falcon athletes.

The open house is part of a continued effort to re-engage and reconnect with District 214 alumni.

Forest View High School opened in 1962 as the district's third high school. It closed in 1986 amid declining enrollment after educating two decades of Falcons.

No RSVP is necessary for the event. For information, call the District 214 Education Office, (847) 718-7708, or email alumni@d214.org.
