Two minor injuries reported after Bartlett school bus crash

Two people were injured after a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Bartlett Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The school bus was driving north on Route 59 near the intersection at West Bartlett Road around 3 p.m. when a car driving south on Route 59 turned left in front of the school bus, according to the Bartlett Police Department.

In an attempt to avoid a collision, the school bus maneuvered into the other lane but hit another car, police said. The car turning left still hit the school bus.

One student suffered minor injuries but wasn't taken to the hospital. One of the drivers also had minor injuries and went to a nearby hospital in an ambulance, police said.

Northbound lanes on Route 59 at Park Place and all lanes on West Bartlett Road at Devon Avenue and Naperville Road were closed for about an hour while police investigated the crash. All lanes of traffic have since been reopened.
