Frosty Fest returns to Gurnee

Gurnee's Frosty Fest returned Saturday after a one-year hiatus.

The event was held at the Bittersweet Golf Club with free family activities. Snow shoeing, sledding, ice sculpting demonstrations, snow golf on the Bittersweet links and sleigh rides, hot chocolate and s'mores for all visitors were part of the event.

The Gurnee Park District canceled Frost Fest in 2015 due to what park district organizers said was dangerously cold weather. An estimated 1,500 people attended the 2014 Frosty Fest.
