Get a workout at 'Rockin' for Rescues!' April 16

Join in two hours of cardio, dance, toning and stretch in "Rockin' for Rescues!" from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Zion Lutheran Church, 330 Griswold St. in Elgin.

All proceeds will benefit Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin.

There is a $10 donation per person required to participate. Arrive early to sign consent, waiver and liability forms. There also will be a raffle, $5 per ticket or six for $20. For details, visit rockinforrescues.vpweb.com.

Consider dropping off donations at the event from the "needs" list: paper towels; dog toys; cat toys; Thundershirts, small, medium and large (available at Petco, PetSmart and Amazon online); Kongs (available at Petco, PetSmart and Amazon online); large dog pill pockets; KMR (kitten replacement milk), feeding bottles and other kitten supplies; Pedigree canned dog food; canned cat food (especially Friskies turkey and giblets flavor); gift cards to Petco, PetSmart or Costco; pet wipes; Windex; gently used towels and blankets - no bed sheets, pillows or curtains please; Soft Paws or Soft Claws; kitty litter - nonscoopable; Feliway spray or plug in refills; Stretch and Scratch (www.stretchandscratch.com); stainless steel pet food bowls; training treats; or monetary donations.
