Roadside safety check planned this weekend in Elgin
Illinois State Police will conduct a roadside safety check this weekend in Elgin, officials announced.
Officers working the detail will be watching for motorists who are operating vehicles in an unsafe manner, driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license, transporting open alcoholic beverages, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding, failing to use seat belts or child restraints, or texting or talking on cellphones.
The project is funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
