Coroner identifies victim in fatal Waukegan crash

The victim of a fatal crash Tuesday has been identified as 51-year-old Waukegan resident Felicita Alcaide, according to a news release Thursday from the Lake County coroner's office.

Alcaide was attempting to cross Lewis Avenue in Waukegan around 8:20 p.m. when she was hit by a minivan driven by Evanston resident Maurice Pettigrew, 42, police said. Pettigrew was charged with leaving the scene of an injury or death accident and having no valid driver's license.
