Silver Cross medical staff elects new chief of staff

NEW LENOX - Silver Cross Hospital's Medical Staff has elected new officers to serve until Sept. 30, 2021.

Dr. Silvio Morales, emergency medicine doctor, now serves as the Chief of Staff for the hospital. Over the next two years, Dr. Morales will represent the Silver Cross Medical Staff - now more than 850 members strong - working along with the hospital's board of directors, leadership team, employees, volunteers and physician colleagues.

Dr. Morales is board certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Illinois at Peoria College of Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

He joined the Silver Cross Medical Staff in September 2005, and has served as the Department Chair of Emergency Medicine for the last 10 years.
