Softball: Jacobs picks up 1st win

Emily Borg had 2 hits with a double while Katie Armstrong added a double and an RBI to lead Jacobs to a 4-2 Fox Valley Conference Valley Division softball win over Crystal Lake South Wednesday.

Alexis Addante and Katie Borchert added RBI for the Golden Eagles (1-2, 1-2) and Brittany Feldman picked up the win in the circle, allowing just 5 hits.

Carly Chovanec homered for Crystal Lake South (2-4, 0-3). Chloe Skorija was the losing pitcher.

Hampshire 4, Woodstock North 3: Winning pitcher Jasmine Lopez had 2 hits with a double, Renee Malecke added a double and an RBI and Aly Snider had a double as the Whip-Purs (6-3, 2-1) won this FVC game with a run in the top of the seventh inning.

St. Edward 16, Guerin 7: In a Metro Suburban crossover, Devyn Ernst (2 hits, 2B, 3 RBI), Sarah Mendoza (2 hits, 3B, 6 RBI) and Jessy Kramp (3 RBI) each hit home runs to lead the Green Wave (3-1). Lindsay Zdroik had 3 hits and 2 RBI for St. Edward and Allison Stratman added a double. Emily Stapay was the winning pitcher.

Streamwood 11, Glenbard East 3: In the Upstate Eight, Jessica Daley had 3 hits with a double and 3 RBI to lead the Sabres (4-5, 1-2). Taylor Crocilla was the winning pitcher.

McHenry 8, Cary-Grove 0: The Trojans (3-5, 2-1) managed just 3 hits in this FVC loss. Rachel Stanley was the losing pitcher.

ACC 2, Rosary 0: Dani Brown allowed just 1 hit and had 14 strikeouts to lead the Chargers (7-4) to a nonconference win. Brown also had a double and an RBI, Paige Miller doubled and Jessica Eallonardo had 2 hits and an RBI for Aurora Central. Losing pitcher Emma Molenhouse had the only hit for Rosary (1-5).

St. Charles North 12, West Chicago 0: Natalie Walters threw a 1-hitter and Sam Hausl homered for the North Stars (5-1, 4-0) in the Upstate Eight.

Bartlett 18, Larkin 3: Bartlett (7-3, 3-1) pounded out 10 doubles in winning this UEC game. Caitlin Flippinger had 3 doubles for the Hawks, Taylor Rotundo 2 and Katie Fornoff 2 while Gianna Stornello, Amber Pagan and Alyssa Nowak each doubled once. Sydney Quagliano added a home run to the 21-hit attack. Dani Kirby went 3 innings in the circle for the win. Haley Bohne had a home run and a double for Larkin and Sam Wahl added a double.

Geneva 13, East Aurora 0: Rachel Fanella, who had 2 doubles and 4 RBI, pitched a 5-inning perfect game with 6 strikeouts and no walks to lead the Vikings (6-2, 3-1) to an Upstate Eight win. Megan White added a double and Sarah Baurer had 3 hits for Geneva.

Wheaton North 21, Elgin 3: The Maroons (2-6) were no-hit in this nonconference loss.
