The cost of Biden's vision on oil

By the time President Biden took office, the United States had achieved energy independence and had even become an energy exporter in 2019. Moreover, the Keystone pipeline was being built that would deliver Canadian oil to refineries in Louisiana. We were as a nation secure and cozy even positioning to supply our allies in Europe relieving them of reliance on OPEC and Russia.

But President Biden had a different vision. He wanted to be on a path to abandon carbon fuels, save the world from climate change by terminating the Keystone pipeline and restricting domestic oil and natural gas production. Now we are once more at the mercy of foreign powers. The cost for fueling our cars and heating our homes has been soaring and could surge much more with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The president came out in response to this aggression and announced economic sanctions against Russia but ironically not against their oil exports, that would be most painful to their economy, because now we need their oil to hold down price increases.
