Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation holds successful winter coat drive
The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation's 2020 Coat Drive was a huge success!
Despite initial difficulties of finding public collection points, the Batavia community truly came together in one of the most successful drives to date.
These generous contributions will keep our neighbors warm during the upcoming winter months.
Items will be distributed to both CHIP-In Batavia and the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry and Clothes Closet.
The following items were collected: 65 men's coats, snowsuits and snow pants; 97 women's coats, snowsuits and snow pants; 98 boy's coats, snowsuits and snow pants; 118 girl's coats, snowsuits and snow pants; 39 boots; 74 scarves; 157 hats; 100 gloves and mittens; and 22 glove and hat sets.
It was a total of 770 items, over 150 more than last year.
The Batavia Mothers' Club Foundation is a fun group of mothers offering friendship and support. Club activities include:
• Community fundraisers (last year they disbursed over $19,000 back to the community);
• Recreational activities for moms, couples, and families;
• Play groups for moms and kids.
