Rolling Meadows rallies for MSL East win

Rolling Meadows' girls water polo team rallied from behind with 4 fourth-quarter goals to top Prospect 5-4 on Monday in a Mid-Suburban East divisional opener.

Emily Walters and Lizzie Hardt paced the Mustangs (5-2, 1-0) with 2 goals apiece, and Gracie Dix scored twice for the Knights (1-4, 0-1).

Betsy Zanocco stopped 23 shots for Rolling Meadows.

• Barrington's girls water polo team scored 3 goals in the fourth quarter to edge host Fremd 8-7.

Emily Kini (3 goals) and Becca Rutkowski (2) led the scoring effort for Fremd.

Barrington is 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the MSL West.

• Mathilde Mogensen produced a 5-goal, 7-assist performance to help Palatine past Hoffman Estates 15-7.

Tess O'Brien and Jasmina Mesic had 4 goals each for the Pirates (2-3, 1-0) and Meghan Woell stopped 11 shots.

Ann Cho (5 goals) and Jenny Fermaintt (2) supplied the scoring for Hoffman Estates (2-3, 0-1).

• Paulina Chowaniec scored 4 goals to help defending MSL West champ Conant (6-0, 1-0) past Schaumburg 7-5.

Hannah Pearson led the Saxons (1-4, 0-1) with 3 goals.

• Hersey (3-0, 1-0) came up with a 5-3 win over host Buffalo Grove in an MSL East opener.
