New contract for Rolling Meadows city workers approved
A new labor agreement covering Rolling Meadows city secretaries, clerks, accountants, building inspectors, meter readers and police assistants was approved this week.
The city council unanimously agreed Tuesday to extend the contract with American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees, Council 31, through 2023. It awards raises of 2.25% retroactive to Jan. 1, 2% next year, and 2% the year after. Employee contributions to group health insurance also will increase from 14% to 15% in 2023. A provision on compensatory time was also added to the contract.
After unionizing, the employee group inked its first pact with city officials in 2018. A two-year extension with public works employees was approved in January.
