Adler Center hosts holiday concert for young children Dec. 21

Submitted by the David Adler Music and Arts Center

The David Adler Music and Arts Center will present a cheerful holiday concert for babies and young children.

Pianist Rick Lowe will perform a "Holiday Special" concert from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, Dec. 21, as part of the Adler Center's ongoing Baroque to Baby Concert Series.

The Baroque to Baby series features baby-friendly concerts designed to encourage those caring for young children to take a break in their day to share the joy of music. Each month, explore a new instrument while playing and singing along. Past concerts have featured the guitar, violin, and cello.

At each Baroque to Baby concert, the Early Childhood Program Instructor leads joyful games and activities that encourage small listeners to engage and move with the music. Everyone is encouraged to move, cry, feed, and dance in a warm and supportive environment - a fun and relaxed introduction to music.

"The joy you see on the kids' faces when they hear a new instrument, or successfully play something is so beautiful," Early Childhood Coordinator Melissa Padgett said. "Parents and children get to bond over the activities; children feel encouraged. It's not anything you're going to find anywhere else. It's a special time where you can focus on one another."

Tickets for the Baroque to Baby Holiday Special are $15 per family. To book, visit www.adlercenter.org or call (847) 367-0707.
