Palatine prevails against Schaumburg

Seniors Marcus Carter-Buckman (8 goals) and Ivan Turkan (5) led the way as Palatine's boys water polo team improved to 4-6 overall and 2-1 in the Mid-Suburban West with an 18-12 victory over Schaumburg on Tuesday.

Schaumburg (3-8, 1-2) got a team-best 7 goals from Tyler Gustafson, and goalie Eden Latic stopped 6 shots.

Palatine also got 4 goals from Dylan White and 4 assists from Sean O'Brien.

• Steven Fischer scored a team-best 3 goals in leading host Barrington (9-2, 2-1) past Hoffman Estates 16-10 in MSL West play. George Isaac paced the Hawks (0-9, 0-3) with 6 goals.

• Fremd maintained its lead in the MSL West by topping Conant 19-10.

The Vikings (5-2, 3-0) got a 6-goal effort from Robert DePau and 4 goals apiece from Dylan Assmann and Alex Nicholas.

Nicholas led Fremd with 3 assists, and DePau and Nate Jordan each had 2.
