Palatine Jaycees award $16,000 in grants to local nonprofits

Grants totaling $16,000 recently were awarded by the Palatine Jaycees to local nonprofit organizations. Among the organizations to receive a portion of the $16,000 were High School District 211 Foundation/Realtors Against Homelessness, OMNI Youth Services, Journeys-The Road Home, Escorted Transportation Services Northwest, St. Joseph's Home, Little Sisters of the Poor and Partners for Our Communities. Money raised from the annual Hometown Fest around the Fourth of July holiday, in part, allows for the grants, officials said. Each spring, the Jaycees seek community grant program applications from local nonprofits serving Palatine residents.
