Curtain: The Newspaper Movie of the Month for July
'Richard Jewell'
There was controversy when this Clint Eastwood movie came out four years ago because of its unfair depiction of late Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Kathy Scruggs, but if you can discard that, it provides a poignant portrayal of the media circus that engulfed Jewell, wrongly accused of the 1996 summer Olympic bombing. It includes an especially strong performance by Kathy Bates, who played Jewell's mother.
