Boys golf: Parola's 76 tops at Shepherd's Crook

Brett Parola fired a 76 to capture medalist honors and lead Mundelein's boys golf team to the championship of the Zion-Benton invitational at Shepherd's Crook on Saturday.

Mundelein shot a 313, while New Trier (322) took runner-up honors. Lake Zurich (322), Vernon Hills (326) and Fremd (329) rounded out the top five. Warren (331) and Stevenson (338) finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 24-team field.

Mundelein's Ryan Magee (77) finished 1 shot back of his teammate Parola. Warren's Trevor Britton was third with a 78. Mundelein's Zach Zentz also shot a 78 and was fourth.

Lake Zurich was led by Dan Angelina (79, fifth) and Konnor Kininmonth (79, seventh).

Brian Favia (79, sixth) and Justin Park (79 eighth) paced Vernon Hills.
