Aurora Christian sends three to 1A state

Aurora Christian's freshman trio of wrestlers all advanced to next weekend's IHSA state finals in Champaign out of the Class 1A Byron sectional Saturday.

The Eagles' Cameron Johnson kept his record unblemished for the season by winning the 106-pound championship. He is now 31-0 for the season.

Zeke Marshall (28-2) placed first at 113 and Noah Villareal (30-3) took third place at 120.

The trio will begin their quest for state championships on Thursday at the University of Illinois.
