Boys water polo: Jake Noel paces a Wheeling winner

Jake Noel came up with a game-high 6 goals to help Wheeling's boys water polo team in a 15-10 victory over visiting Palatine on Wednesday.

Nate Reiff had 3 goals and Kyle Noel and Jorge Figueroa 2 apiece for the Mid-Suburban East leaders, who improved to 11-5 overall.

Seniors Ivan Turkan and Marcus Carter-Buckman both scored 4 goals to pace Palatine (4-9).

• Buffalo Grove (8-4) came up with a 17-3 victory over Hoffman Estates in an MSL crossover to improve to 8-4 overall. The Bison are in second place in the MSL East.

• Senior Brendan Atwood had 4 goals and 7 steals to help Maine West to an 11-3 victory over Chicago Latin.

Richie Sevic had 3 goals, 4 assists and 4 steals, while Abraham Martinez scored 1 goal, had 3 assists and 2 steals and Adam Smolik-Valles scored 1 goal and had 2 assists and 2 steals for the Warriors (6-2).

• Mitch Warren and Dante Cerone both scored for St. Viator and Tim Bansfield stopped 5 shots, but Loyola was able to come away with 9-2 victory.

• Conant improved to 5-5 overall after a 7-4 victory over Hersey in an MSL crossover.
