The seventh annual Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival runs July 24 to 31. And it's moved to the Randhurst 12 theaters in Mount Prospect.

"Randhurst provides high-definition digital projection and 5.1 surround sound, to ensure that the film is screened at the highest possible quality," said Therese Dean-Myrda, the fest's operations coordinator. "The renovated theater has luxury seating and a full-service bar."

The festival's earlier venue, the Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center in Palatine, lacked such amenities.

Chet Baker's "Born to Be Blue" opens the festival at 7 p.m. Sunday. It closes a week later with "Ron Pope: One Way Ticket." This year's program has been selected by Elgin resident and festival member Tony Schiavone. Go to bwiff.com for a schedule and tickets.
