Lake County Rising event set for Feb. 12 in Round Lake Beach

Lake County Rising 2019, an event to advocate for an end violence against and oppression of women, will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center.

Students from Round Lake High School's Ghostlight Readers Theatre will perform vignettes from "Seven," depicting various forms of oppression experienced by women.

The free public event is hosted by Lake County State's Attorney Michael G. Nerheim in partnership with Nicasa Behavioral Health Services and support from Z Center, A Safe Place, and YWCA Lake County.
