Pingree Grove helping seniors, others homebound due to COVID-19

The village of Pingree Grove has a list of volunteers willing to help with deliveries to seniors or anyone else homebound during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The volunteers have gone through basic background checks, Village Administrator Dean Frieders said. Residents can call the village to be connected with the volunteers and make arrangements directly with them.

The volunteers can pick up supplies like groceries and medication. Residents are in charge of ordering and paying for the supplies.

"We make sure we are not making an opportunity for criminals," Frieders said. "We have their name, address and driver's license on file, so we know exactly which senior they are working with."

Anyone who needs assistance can call village hall at (847) 464-5533 or email info@pingreegrove.org.
