Elk Grove Village police looking for driver who struck pedestrian

Elk Grove Village police are investigating an early morning hit-and-run crash on Oakton Street near Busse Road.

A man was crossing Oakton Street just west of Busse Road about 5 a.m. Tuesday when a vehicle traveling west struck him, police said. The man was not walking in a crosswalk, police said.

After striking the man, the driver continued west on Oakton Street, police said.

The man was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, where he was being treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Police are searching for a dark-colored sedan that might have damage on the front end of the vehicle. Anyone with information about the driver's identity should call (847) 357-4100.
