We must act to protect children

I am so angry and upset that we allow children to be abused and killed time after time while waiting to "rehab" the parents. Why on earth would it be the goal of DCFS or anyone to return a helpless child to his abuser?

We tell grown women, "if a man abuses you once, he will do it again. Leave the first time." But we say to helpless children, "our goal is to return you to the parents that abused you." A child born with drugs in its system has already been abused.

We continue the abuse by placing the child into foster care for months/years. Then the abuse continues when we return him to the original abuser, whom they hardly know, and in many cases have never lived with. That is traumatic and abusive to a child to be passed around like a football.

Let's protect the child and not the abuser by adopting these kids to a loving family in the first place and let them stay secure and loved with one family forever. No second chances ever. We need to remove these kids forever from these unfit, abusive, murderous parents. Remember, if they do it once, they will do it again. let's not play with the lives of our helpless children and let's stop giving all the rights to the abusive parents.

If DCFS staffers make 26 visits to a family and cannot figure out that there is a problem before a child is killed, in my opinion they are very ignorant and incompetent and should not be working there. They not only should be fired and not getting paid, they should be up for murder as well. Let's start protecting these innocent children.
