Can our schools truly be prepared?

Yet another school shooting on February 14. Gun lobbyists aren't going to back down and politicians aren't going to stop taking money from the NRA. Do we stay in limbo forever waiting for Washington to come together while the safety of our children continues to remain at great risk? How many more schoolchildren have to die before metal detectors are installed at school entrances? Installing locks, cameras, and conducting active shooter drills in schools is clearly not enough. Installing metal detectors at school entrances would prevent a perpetrator from entering with guns and ammunition in the first place.
