Columbia College of Missouri plans commencement for Illinois campuses

Columbia College of Missouri will recognize the hard work of 156 graduates from its four Illinois campuses at a commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14.

The college has locations in Elgin, Crystal Lake, Gurnee and Freeport.

The commencement ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the Elgin Community College Events Center, Building J, 1700 Spartan Drive.

David Starrett, provost and vice president for academic affairs, will give the commencement address and confer degrees.

Karen Beckstrom, director of Columbia College of Missouri-Elgin, will serve as master of ceremonies and Phillip Brooks will provide the alumni charge.

The event is open to the public, and a reception will take place following the ceremony.
