Carpentersville man killed in Huntley crash identified

A 27-year-old man who died in a car crash on Route 47 in Huntley Feb. 8 was identified today as Julian M. Torres of Carpentersville, authorities said.

Torres was driving a 1999 Acura sedan in the northbound lane of Route 47 near Regency Parkway around 5:25 a.m. when he collided with a 2016 GMC Sierra driving in the southbound lane.

Torres died due to multiple injuries, according to a news release from the Kane County coroner's office. The driver of the Sierra was taken to a nearby hospital and his condition is unknown.
