Gurnee invites community to Outrun the Cops! charity event

The Gurnee Police Department will host a charity 5K & 10K run/walk event to raise money to help abused children June 15. The event, called Outrun the Cops! will start at 8 a.m. at the Gurnee Police Department, 100 N. O'Plaine Road. Registration ranges from $15 per person if you run with an organization or youth sports team of at least five people to run or walk the 5K by yourself. Participating in the 10K costs $40. Sponsorship opportunities range from $50 to $1,000. All of the money will go toward the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center and other local charities.
