Boys soccer: Jacobs, Dundee-Crown earn FVC wins

Jacobs 3, Hampshire 0: Noah Melick's 2 goals helped the Golden Eagles (6-3-3, 2-0) stay up top the Fox Valley Conference in a win against the Whip-Purs. Jacob Moser added a goal while Colin Walsh, Patrick Murphy and Jacob Sabella dished assists. Ethan Pickering earned a shutout in goal with 5 saves.

Dundee-Crown 4, CL South 0: Julian Ajroja helped the Chargers (7-7, 1-1) to a commanding Fox Valley Conference win over the Gators (8-3-1, 0-1), who were unbeaten in their previous 9 matches. Ajroja had 2 first half goals and 1 assist while Jeremy Jareckyj tallied 1 goal and 2 assists. Eric Martinez added a goal and Gerardo Estrada had 1 assist. Keeper Luis Cruz maintained the shutout with 5 saves.

St. Edward 8, Guerin 2: The Green Wave (7-3, 2-0) rung up 4 goals in each half in this Metro Suburban win. Leading the way with 2 goals each were Zach Olenek (2 assists) and Josh Johansen. Streamwood 1, Batavia 1: Aldo Lazaro's goal helped the Sabres (8-3-2, 1-0-1) manage a tie in Upstate Eight River action against the Bulldogs. Goalie Daniel Dominguez garnered 2 saves.

Latin 6, Elgin Academy 1: Elliott Wittmeyer's goal was the lone highlight in a Independent School League loss for the Hilltoppers, who fell to 4-6 overall and 1-5 in conference.
