Gurnee Mills hosts 'Readers are Leaders'

WTTW's Readers are Leaders tour stops at Gurnee Mills, 6170 W. Grand Ave., Gurnee, for a free event Saturday, Feb. 27. The program, which will be in the Dining Pavilion in the Macy's Wing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., is open to children of all ages, and will focus on the importance of parents reading with and to their kids. It will be hosted by Miss Lori from Miss Lori's CAMPUS, well known children's performer and singer in the Chicago area. Shows will include singing, fun activities, and free children's books for the first 200 children who attend. There will also be a special appearance by WTTW kids' character Curious George. Kids will be invited to take a photograph with Curious George and also take a goodie bag (including a book). Samples will also be provided by Happy Family Organics and Jamba Juice as refreshments.
