Three people injured in Hawthorn Woods crash

One person had to be cut from the wreckage and two others also were injured in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Hawthorn Woods, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 3 p.m. on the 26000 block of North Fairfield Road, Lake Zurich fire Capt. Lee Kammin said. The three injured people were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. A fourth person involved did not require treatment.

The cause of the crash was unclear, Kammin said. The Hawthorn Woods Police Department is investigating.
