Portion of I-74 to be dedicated to fallen Illinois trooper

FARMER CITY, Ill. (AP) - A portion of Interstate 74 in central Illinois is being dedicated to a state trooper who died in a crash in 2017.

A section of the interstate will be named Trooper Ryan Albin Memorial Highway, from mile post 155 to mile post 160 near Farmer City. Albin's family, lawmakers and police officials plan to attend a ceremony Tuesday at Trinity Community Fellowship Church in Farmer City in DeWitt County.

Albin died in June 2017 following a crash that involved a tractor-trailer near a construction zone on I-74. Hundreds of people attended his funeral or lined streets to see the procession to the cemetery.
