BBB honors Des Plaines with 'Better Business Town' award

Des Plaines Mayor Andrew Goczkowski accepted an award from the Better Business Bureau of Chicago and Northern Illinois naming Des Plaines as a "Better Business Town" for being business and consumer-friendly.

Des Plaines is a top ranked community across the region for having businesses that rise above the rest. Des Plaines ranks 11th in total number of BBB Accredited Business and 15th in the most web traffic from consumers searching for reliable businesses.

"It's exciting that the BBB data supports what our leaders, residents, customers, local business owners and employees already know - Des Plaines businesses are truly top-notch," Goczkowski said.

"Customers and businesses in Des Plaines have a relationship that's built on trust, and it shows. On behalf of the city, I'm extremely honored to receive this designation and proud of our businesses for making Des Plaines a 'Better Business Town.'"

"Better Business Town" is a new designation from the BBB to identify highly-engaged local communities that actively promote an ethical and trustworthy business marketplace.

"Des Plaines was selected because of its outstanding and dynamic business community."

Goczkowski accepted the award at the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mid-Year meeting, attended by city officials and more than 200 local businesses and chamber members.

Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Director Andrea Biwer said, "We are thrilled that the Des Plaines business community was the first community to be acknowledged by the BBB for this amazing designation.
