White, male justices have used affirmative action
Many Republicans are labeling President Biden's plan to appoint a Black woman to the Supreme Court as "affirmative action." I disagree.
If you look at the history of the Court, 115 justices have served on the Court since 1789. Of those, five are women and two are Black men.
Through most of that time, female and Black Americans were given no consideration whatsoever. So it appears to me that the group who has received an unfair advantage that could be called "affirmative action" in these appointments are the 108 White men.
