Boys soccer: Marmion, Batavia notch regional wins

James Serrano scored twice in overtime Friday to lead Marmion's boys soccer team to a 2-0 win over Burlington Central in the play-in game of the Class 2A Kaneland regional.

Jason Baker made 3 saves in goal for the 10th-seeded Cadets, who take on No. 2 seed Kaneland Tuesday in the semifinals.

Ryan Parsons had 6 saves in the net for No. 7 seed Burlington Central.

Batavia 4, Plainfield East 3: No. 17 seed Batavia advanced to the semifinals of the Class 3A Lockport regional with this win. The Bulldogs face No. 1 seed Naperville North on Tuesday.
