Aurora Methodists, Fox Valley Sierra Club to audit vehicles idling in school zones

Aurora's Wesley United Methodist Church and Sierra Club of the Fox Valley are partnering to audit vehicles idling in school zones.

An announcement said the project is sponsored by the church's United Methodist Women to promote idle-free school zones.

The church's first idling audit will be conducted Feb. 28 to March 3 during the mornings.

Virtual training will be held on Zoom on Thursday, Feb. 24, for prospective volunteers.

Morning training is at 10:30 a.m. and evening training is at 7:30 p.m. Training is about 30 minutes.

Volunteers who complete training will conduct the first audit the week of Feb. 28.

In the case of inclement weather, volunteers will conduct the audit from inside their vehicles.
