ID released of man shot to death in Elgin

A man was shot to death early Friday evening in Elgin.
The Kane County Coroner's Office Wednesday identified the victim as 25-year-old Dontrell C. Williams, also known as Dontrell M. Cortez, according to a news release from the coroner.
The preliminary cause of death was a gunshot wound. A manner was not given.
Elgin police say it happened around 6:20 p.m. in the 1200 block of Fleetwood Drive. No other information has been released.
