Audition for Improv Playhouse's 'Bring It On'

Seventh through 12th grade musical theater students are invited to schedule auditions for Improv Playhouse Elite's production of "Bring It On the Musical."

Intermediate to advanced previous musical theater experience is requested.

Bitingly relevant, sprinkled with sass and inspired by the hit film about competing cheerleading squads, "Bring It On the Musical" explores the complexities of friendship, jealousy, betrayal and forgiveness.

Uniting some of the freshest and funniest creative minds on Broadway, "Bring It On" features an original story by Tony Award winner Jeff Whitty ("Avenue Q"), music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda ("In the Heights," "Hamilton"), music by Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winning composer Tom Kitt ("Next to Normal") and lyrics by Broadway lyricist Amanda Green ("High Fidelity"). The show was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical.

Improv Playhouse staffer Britta Schlicht will direct, with musical direction by Justin Stevens.

Auditions will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at IP's Blackbox Theater, 735 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.

The group will rehearse from 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays and 3:30-5:30 p.m. Sundays.
