Letter: Leaders should first reflect our values

Before I even consider political or business positions of a political candidate, I first consider their moral and ethical standards. I consider these issues of vital importance, because I am about to select someone who is going to reflect my values to the country and world. That is how I reached the conclusion that Edgar, Thompson, Eisenhower and Obama would meet my standards and thus earn my vote.

When it comes to Trump, his morals appear to have all of the characteristics of a cesspool. Based on his business performance and how he interfaces with the rest of the business community that he deals with, his integrity level is nonexistent and ethics are just a six-letter word for him.

There are some current politicians who feel that Trump accurately reflects their own values. Or worst yet, they feign support while suppressing their own values. If you choose to give your political support to these people, make no mistake, you are reflecting your own ethics, not just accepting theirs, no matter how hard you try to sugarcoat your vote.
