Hoffman Estates closes village facilities to public

Due to precautions related to COVID-19, the village of Hoffman Estates is closing village hall, public works and its four fire stations to walk-in traffic until further notice.

The police department will remain open, but residents are asked to visit only when necessary and practice social distancing when inside.

A number of other Hoffman Estates village services are currently suspended or postponed. The village board's standing committee meetings of March 23 have been rescheduled for April 6.

Residents are advised to visit the village's website at hoffmanestates.org for the most up-to-date information.

Among the services canceled through April 30 are passport services, the water meter replacement program, residential inspections and annual business fire inspections, Health and Human Services clinics, and any shut-offs of residential water though late fees and penalties will still apply.

The public is strongly encouraged to utilize the village's online bill payment and other functions, as well as the drive-through drop boxes.
