An extended term?

As we learn more about the escalating coronavirus situation in the U.S., it occurs to me that it may very well continue to plague our nation even beyond the November presidential election. After all, based on current forecasts, we will still not have a proven vaccine available until 2021.

So, let's think about this. If the virus is still a serious threat in November, it would be irresponsible to hold an election where large groups of people, all across our country, would have to congregate, exchange documents, share voting punch pens, shake hands, etc.

The likely solution would be to postpone the election, perhaps into 2021, meaning that Donald Trump would become the first president in U.S. history to serve a single term longer than four years.

Imagine that.
