American Legion Posts donate poppy money to VAC

Nick Konz of Mundelein American Legion Post 867 and Tom Marciciak of Lake Zurich American Legion Post 964 recently presented Andrew Tangen, Veterans Assistance Commission Superintendent, with checks totaling $8,282.67 from donations collected for poppies on Memorial Day.

All funds will be used to assist Lake County veterans in need. In particular, funding is needed for emergency dental assistance not covered by the public aid code, and for outreach to the Lake County Veterans Community.

Military veterans do not receive dental from the Veterans Affairs unless they are rated at 100 percent service connected, POW or have a service-connected disability to their mouth.
