Lake County sheriff announces results of holiday enforcement

The Lake County sheriff's office arrested two impaired drivers, made one drug arrest and issued 109 seat belt citations during the recent Fourth of July "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" safety campaigns. A total of 197 citations were issued during the campaign, including the arrest of two fugitives. Law-enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this statewide effort to get drunk and drugged drivers off the roadways and encourage seat belt use. The effort was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide enforcement programs.
