Northwest Suburban Council PTA president wins Illinois PTA volunteer award

Julie Holdeman. the president of the Northwest Suburban Council of PTA/PTSA, which serves Palatine Township Elementary School District 15, has been named Illinois PTA's Outstanding Volunteer of the Year.

Holdeman previously served as PTA president at Palatine Township Elementary School District 15's Virginia Lake Elementary School in addition to serving on various committees at the school for several years.

"Julie has never backed down from a challenge and her enthusiasm and empathy have touched the lives of all students these past 12 years," said Virginia Lake PTA President Alicia Grundy and past Virginia Lake PTA President Amy Henning in their nomination of Holdeman.

Holdeman was honored at an April 2 ceremony in Springfield.
