Summer concerts at Independence Grove begin June 13

An eight-week summer music series will begin in June at Independence Grove Forest Preserve near Libertyville.

The eight concerts will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning June 13 through Aug. 8. No concert will take place July 4.

New Invaders will be first up June 13. The group is known for time traveling to the 1960s and the musical period carved out by British rock 'n' roll.

To help offset costs of the concerts, there is an entrance fee of $6 per car after 5 p.m. on event nights. Vehicles will be turned away when parking is full.
